This is absolutely the worst Highway Department I have ever experienced. Did not do a proper job during the wintertime of keeping the roads safe. This County Spends taxpayer dollars on frivolous things for the fire department and police department and refuses to take care of the highways and keep them safe for the residents. I personally travel a lot for work been through various counties and this is by far the worst I have experienced. They are incapable of clearing the major highways of 3 inches of snow in 12 to 18 hours. I'm just curious where my tax dollars are really going when I see other public services being funded very well and one of the most important the highway department seems to be underfunded where do they spend their money properly? In my opinion this is a joke. I guess this is the best you can get from a county where most residents are funded by section 8 and welfare. What a shame. Since most of the population of this county doesnt have a job to get to I guess I wouldnt care about clearing roades either. Instead of having a fill the boot fund raiser at the 4 way stops how about we have a fill the salt bag fund raiser. I mean really I seen a snow truck not spreading salt driving around with its blade up instead of down when it should have been clearing snow last year. I can't wait to see what this weather holds for Crawford County.
